our food philosophy

Here at the savory experience, we work with local organic farms to get seasonal produce and
vegetables as well as utilizing high-quality pantry items from vendors
such as King Arthur Flour, Bob’s Red Mill, Central Market, HEB and various local Farmer’s Markets. We follow these three core concepts as often as feasible:

  • utilize seasonal produce
  • source from local artisans, suppliers and farmer’s markets
  • always create unique handcrafted, flavorful and artisanal foods

Some benefits of seasonal eating are:

  • Food Tastes Better – Seasonal produce is fresher, more flavorful and usually perfectly ripe
  • Higher Nutritional Value – Seasonal produce is normally fresher and, since available closer to harvesting, provides higher nutrition
  • Supports Natural Nutritional Needs – Nature provides what is needed during each season through our food. Winter provides citrus produce for Vitamin C to prevent the flu and colds. Summer provides beta-carotenes and other carotenoids to protect from sun damage and also natural sugars for energy
  • Economically & Environmentally-Friendly – Locally sourced in your area which ultimately reduces production costs and easier on the environment to bring produce to market
